MooVPN keeps IP logs for 90 days. And it's only a frontend to Mullvad anyway. Edit: hmm. Maybe this new "in-built" one is something else, since they say it uses "Mozilla-managed" VPN servers. Still, 90 day logs of unstated contents are stored - "Logs linked to your account are automatically deleted after 3 months".

A new benchmark by Proronix showcased how chrome is ahead of firefox in most benchmarks. [1]

I consider optimization, performance and stability a priority over new useless features.

Wasn't chrome always ahead of firefox in these? It's to be expected considering jewgle runs both and also creates web standards

It's widely known that Mozilla is a subsidiary of Google and Firefox only exists to dance around antitrust laws.

Less commonly known is google funding apple safari for same reason.

But somehow apple isn't considered a subsidiary.

Gee, I wonder why... maybe it has something to do with Apple doing something other than making browsers and not getting 90% of its funding from Google?

If your company only make one kind of products, and it is getting 90% funded from another company.

Then your company is subsidiary of the funding company, got it.

Thanks for enlightening us.
For all intents and purposes, isn't that what it comes down to? Or are you going to be autistic about word definitions to compensate for your ghastly English?

Bonus: It doesn't even make sense to have Mozilla as subsidiary because it is waste of money basically.
moeloli clearly didn't use the term subsidiary in a strict legal sense but rather to mean "this company is de facto controlled by another" which is obvious in case of mozilla. nobody thinks that mozilla is legally a subsidiary of google but it's basically controlled opposition

also, it's not about being profitable for google, it's about avoiding anti-trust laws

Rounded viewport

Post by TechLord »

Sadly, Mozilla is now following the same trend as Opera and Edge and rounded the corners of the viewport.

Also, the new redesign looks infantile (like Android Lollipop back in 2014).

Sure, you can edit userChrome.css to get rid of it, but this shouldn't be necessary.

You mean 2004-2013.

Firefox "Australis" 29 in 2014 brought Chrome-ish rounded tabs. I prefer squarish tabs. But back then, a XUL extension could change it back. Also, they removed the ability to add custom toolbars.

Or 2004-2010, before Firefox 4 came along.

I wish there was a browser with the look, feel, and behavior of classic Firefox, the security of Chromium, and the privacy of LibreWolf and UGC with support for MV2 or XUL extensions and no bloat or AI bullshit I didn't ask for. In other words, Firefox if it never changed past version 28 other than security fixes and bug fixes and the only new features added are related to security or privacy.

I think the split view will be useful for people on MacOS since there is no native window snapping. Otherwise I wish Mozilla would stop adding user facing complexity to firefox asside from is necessitated by being secondary to Chrom(e/ium).

I don't think there's actually people like that outdoors, in real life, they're mostly neets or bots, I also find amusing that people whom expect anything from people, or even better, ascii characters, exist.
I personally cannot see any 'security' in a computer acessing other computers worldwide, this has never been secure, it will never be, Firefox is slow and shoving 30 privacy extensions will just slow it down even more, not enhance one's privacy/security, it's all a cope.
AmigaOS was a single user operating system, there was only a superuser, everything you ran had privleged access to your hardware, and I can't recall any Amiga user concerned about privacy, security or if someone were spying on them in the 90s, maybe because most computer users weren't always connected back in the day? how are you gonna spy on a computer without something establishing a connection between the parties?. why am i talking about this? seems a bit off-topic, indeed, i am declaring that one's computer cannot be 'private' if you plugged an rj45 cable in it, you can only remediate it utmost
