It literally already happens. For decades. Look up laetrile for cancer for example (a decent report is here).LoadingXML wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 9:57 pm 1-conspiracy theories always bring some X hidden cure that was working but disappeared, if the "elites" are hiding cures, then they are doing a bad job, because some school dropouts are finding them online and sometimes giving so much details that one could test or replicate the cure himself (giving he has the equipment and money). As even in the stupid animation, the cure "CREAM" was widespread everywhere before the wealthy people used media to stop it, basically no matter how wealthy you are, you won't stop something as spreadout like that cure in the animation, even if we went with a reallife example, any cure conspiracy theorists bring wasn't fully dead because THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT IT.
It isn't top secret, but inaccessible to a regular person. And besides, the things you're envisioning would cost millions. Stem cells, genetic modification for example. Again the big industry wins and the commoner loses. See here for example. Business selling expensive stuff is threatened by the one selling cheap stuff, or even by regular store items turning out to be medical.
2-Biomedicine isn't some top secert knowledge, nor it is harder than quantum physics, if a cure could be made using publically avaiable science, then it can't be hidden, if conspiracies of this kind would want to be useful then teaching or explaining biomedicine to lay people will be more helpful then claiming some guy using his money wants you to suffer for no reason.
The story/message is decent for what it is (I knew what to expect even before watching), but that photographic animation style was... mentally scarring. I'll need some Cream to unsee it.TechLord wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 8:53 pm Cream by David Firth

Indeed. In the real worlds, doctors risk losing their medical license if they go against the medical lobby.qualia wrote: Wed May 27, 2026 10:22 pm I'm glad to see the amount of comments which say things along the lines of "watching this in 2026 its so scary how true it is"
