Many people talked about social media age restriction, the banning of children from using these useless and harmful sites, and the wasting time and becoming addicted to them.
But what they don't know is the banning of people who don't want to be a social media zombie, let me explain:
If you attempted to reach a post in a social media, such as X, instagram, maybe tiktok and such, you will hit with a big "sign up to view" screen, espically if you was on a phone.
These sites now forces you to sign up and have an account in order to view posts/profiles, assuming you only need to view only one post, you would have to either waste time signing up then deleteing your account, or use some third party site to view the post.
This is a pre-ban for all people who don't want a social media account, and to me this is more conserning than children ban, as children don't have a reason to be at any social media site (there is grass outside btw).
But banning regulars who may try to find some special info in signup locked site, is the real deal.
Bonus: To me this maybe a good thing too, social media shouldn't be a source of information or anything really, thus by making it hard to access it, you may as well never do, and use that time and energy on more useful stuff for your life/afterlife.
