Idea to help FOSS (and the world)

Post by digdeeper »

Go through this software / service / OS list (or any other list if you have one) and tell them to support Monero donations if they don't already.

I only did it twice, and both times my offer was rejected, but at least you know you tried, if that happens. I had personalized "prompts" but maybe a template could be created here.

Why? Well, you let people avoid banks and other malicious entities. You support a counter-economy. You increase the available pool of money for FOSS projects since people who only use monero can donate now.

Not revolutionary, I know. But still. Could be effective.

Looking through that list...
>Mozilla Foundation
Kek. Kmao even. Are the millions they get from their parent company, Alphabet Inc, not enough? Maybe not since they redistribute their money to tranny and "diversity" charities and gods know what else.

So far messaged 4 orgs trying to get them to support monero.

Org 1 - rejected for unpopularity
Org 2 - rejected for unease in turning into other currencies
Org 3 - started supporting monero months after, no idea if it had anything to do with my prompt
Org 4 - so far ignored

No matter. I'll continue when opportunities arise. The overton window has to move at some point.

0 / 8 so far if anyone cares. Last 3 orgs just ignored me. One guy was sympathetic but got worried about Windows reporting a monero wallet as a virus (lol).

Does that actually happen? If it does, is it the mining capabilities that set it off? I know AV programs tend to flag all crypto miners as malware by default

He said the AV "quarantined" it, I didn't bother him further.
