It would appear that the US government has decided that letting plebs complain about their crimes and talk to each other about just how badly they are getting fucked is no longer acceptable. from what I can understand this law mainly targets "sites that collect significant amounts of metadata on users" however, given that the vast majority of linux distros have agreed to cooporate with ID verification, that leaves the only hope for something like gentoo.

I am hopeful that this will lead to a renaissance of decentralized and or anonymous platforms.
