can you even post on Reddit without getting shadowbanned?

No matter what i do, with VPN or not, i get shadowbanned just when i first post something. And yeah, i still want to use that site for tech questions and it's useful in some areas, but ffs the site is full of bots yet this happens instantly. Trying to appeal does absolutely nothing. Choosing a username whether generated or not also does nothing. I am sick of this, i think I'll give up, I'll just be a spectator. I see new accounts with very low karma trolling on some subreddits and nothing happens to them unless they do so too much.

I know most of you dislike this website but there are still useful things posted there occasionally and not to mention the user base.

Reddit always restricted posting capability until your account is X days old and so on. But shadowbanning? Maybe they are "dislking" your setup. Try to get someone else to post with your details, and see.

I thought that at first but just a couple of days i used a temp account created 2 years ago with no post history. Just when i posted for the first time, again it got shadowbanned.

I created a new one 2 days ago with fingerprinting resistance turn off and i got so when i posted today.

Whoever created this type of banning without notifying the user, i hope he gets flattened by a truck.

Maybe it has something to do with the post contents?

I mean such a big site surely has filters for...who knows what, probably things that threaten big tech and / or "elites" in general.

The last post i did was totally innocuous on technology subreddit, so i don't think it's about that. I have seen a lot of comments there calling out against surveillance and big tech.

this problem has existed for a while, last time i made a new reddit account was 3-4-ish years ago. i suppose they detect VPNS/tor/unusual browser setups/whatever to try to mitigate bots. it sucks but frankly if i had to run a large social media platform i doubt i could come up with a better solution.

True, you're right. But still there are some better ways like captcha that isn't easy for a bot to solve for example, since many bots seem to exist on the platform by simply buying aged accounts or maybe they have some kind of partnership with them. I just find shadowbanning extremely annoying.

They like Google accounts. But if you want to go through the humiliation ritual of making one in 2026 that's on you... I had to make one recently and it is pretty crazy difficult.

There was a time you could make an account over Tor, and post immediately, but since new Reddit came it broke that function (even though the actual Tor link still exists).
