Communities don't federate automatically. To make it happen, paste a community link into the search, on this instance.

E.g. paste "https://feddit.uk/c/askuk" into "https://lemmy.digdeeper.rodeo/search"'s search bar. After a second, it'll show up as a result.

The community is then federated here

I've just done a bunch I wanted, plus others I thought might be wanted. The more the merrier, I think?
