I finally done went and joined this forum!! Happy to see y'all again. I wanted to bring up
this blog post I made some months ago. Let's use this thread to discuss how we're keeping ourselves sane in this content onslaught, and how we can manage in this damn war zone we find ourselves in.

Welcome to the forum, noahie.
As the article says I avoid all news and soycial media, but getting some "residue" from other people is unavoidable unless you're a complete hermit. But I'm kind of fine with that because among all the garbage, there can be some actually relevant news that have an effect on your life, which you're more likely to hear second-hand than by looking out for news yourself.

Yeah, I think "news" is such a bloated term nowadays thanks to social media and the like. There's still publications I like to read, but I find them to act less like journalists and more like curators, I guess. In terms of actual journalists I follow, I actually do like Brian Krebs, and his coverage on cybersec stuff is pretty cool. My local morning news is honestly pretty okay for the most part too, but it's nice because you watch it for like 30-45 minutes and then you're done. Idk, I think the big thing I try to prioritize is just having as much digital sovereignty as I can. I like freedom to use my tools, support platforms I like, etc. and the idea of there only being a few standard "safe" places to go online scares me.
