Also note the European Chips act, meant to incentivise semiconductor manufacturing in Europe as an attempt to reclaim market share from TSMC

I kind of don't care about it. I hate the EU and all their pretending on how good and ethical and principled they are.
Call me when the businesses are controlled by workers, where they only create what's needed, refuse to poison the environment, etc. Just being a "rival" of USA or China doesn't excite me.

The EU wants their own so they put in shit like chat control which would be less likely to fly in the US.
